Report: Patriots Discussing Trent Brown Trade With 49ers

The Patriots drafted a tackle with their top overall pick on Thursday night, but they may be looking to add one more.

According to Pro Football Talk, the Patriots and 49ers are discussing a Cheap Elite Jerseys potential trade for offensive tackle Trent Brown.

Historically, the Patriots, with Quinn on staff and new Lions coach Matt Patricia as defensive coordinator, had favored larger linebackers. The Lions didn’t follow that trend the past couple of years, but the free-agency pickups of Devon Kennard and Christian Jones suggest a return to that preference.

Rapoport adds that trade compensation for Thomas would come during Day 2 of the draft and the Cowboys would have to work out a long-term deal with him in order to complete a trade.

Yesterday, Dan Graziano of ESPN reported that the sense around the NFL right now is that the Cowboys aren’t done making a push to trade for Thomas. Earlier in the week, Ed Werder reported that a draft trade for Thomas is not considered a priority for the Cowboys. However, Werder says that the Cowboys do have interest in Thomas and are willing to consider a trade for him if Seattle’s asking price comes down.

Hercules Mata’afa’s production in 2017 was excellent, as his senior year saw him record 10.5 sacks and 22.5 tackles for loss. The problem, however, is that those numbers came with him playing predominantly at defensive tackle.
